What to consider when buying a pressure washer
Electric pressure washer is actually quite simple equipment. The electric motor or engine turns the pump, pushing the water through the orifice (tip). Water accelerates as it passes through small holes, like a river flowing faster in a narrow canyon, and fast-moving water is very useful for spraying out dirt and grime. The math is simple. Each time the pump is turned over, a certain amount of water is pushed through the nozzle. The more water that is pushed into the pen tip, the greater the pressure generated, and therefore the greater the power required. The higher the pressure, the faster the water moves and the more dirt the water hits, thereby removing it from the surface you are cleaning.
What to consider
When buying a pressure washer, the two most important considerations are size, which determines how long the work takes or how much work can be completed in a day. And life expectancy, which determines how many hours of work you can complete for every dollar spent on the life of the machine.
Pounds Per Square Inch (PSI)
The pressure generated by a pressure washer is measured in pounds per square inch or PSI. Pressure contributes to the cleaning force.
Gallons Per Minute (GPM)
The water volume produced by a pressure washer is measured in gallons per minute or GPM. Volume also contributes to the cleaning force.
Cleaning Power Units (CPU)
Cleaning Power Units quantifies a pressure washer’s cleaning ability. To determine CPU, multiply GPM x PSI. The greater the CPU, the greater the ability the machine has for cleaning deeply and effectively.
Before choosing a suitable pressure washer or 12v dc pressure washer, we must have a basic understanding and mastery of the above parameters, so that we will not be so passive when buying specific products.
